E.C. Ibes / Trebuchet Studios
Trebuchet
For those unaware: A trebuchet is a machine designed to transfer gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy, which is used to lob large pieces of stone into enemy walls. I was introduced to the concept of a trebuchet for the arts by my father as a child.

He had used "Trebuchet" jokingly as a title for some of his projects - but it left an impression on me ever since I was young. He tells me he used it for its "graceful arc of destruction", the "massive size", and "the ridiculousness and danger of operating it". All good points - but for me it's a metaphor for going far. Of taking a tiny spark of imagination and lobbing it really (I mean, really) far.

My hope is that Trebuchet Studios will do just that; take someone on a far away journey, to some hidden away place, in a graceful (less destructive) arc.
